TOUGH MUDDER 2013 - Sunshine Coast - TEAM HYBRID

Well what a weekend, TOUGH MUDDER Sunshine Coast 2013 has come and we have been and conquered. As co-owner of Hybrid I thought it would be good to reflect on the event and list a few highlights.

1. You all should be proud of your efforts, we were over forty strong in numbers and we were noticed, so many people commented on our team, we have photos of our team in the Courier Mail, Tough Mudder Australia's facebook photos and we were mentioned by the announcers on the weekend on 2 occasions.  For a small gym we represented strong and there were not many (if any) to represent stronger. Some of use were really busted but no one looked to take the easy option, we all started and we all finished.

2. Our finishing video is one of the best things I have seen. As head trainer of Hybrid this gave me goosebumps and a feeling of great pride, we walked tall and over that line as one. Bryce's sisters comment of "friggin awesome" right at the end of the clip is wicked. If you haven't seen the video check it out on the Hybrid Fitness Grafton facebook page.

3. My first special mention goes to Craig Gillies, Without Craig we would not have been as well prepared, Craig gave us his time during the week for 3 months to mark out running trails at Bom Bom, his guidance out there helped us be ready for that rough terrain and we truly appreciate his efforts.

4. My 2nd special mention goes to our trainer Jen. Jen had pretty serious surgery only a few weeks back and shouldn't even be training yet. On the Thursday she texted me and said she was coming, On arrival on Friday it also seemed that she had hidden here training gear in the car so her husband didn't know she was doing it. Jen did it as she wanted to be there with the Hybrid members. All day I asked if she was ok and every time the answer back was one of positivity. We are so lucky to have trainer's like Jen and Josh at Hybrid, they are fantastic trainers and fantastic people. To think that at the last gym that Jen worked at they had her mainly doing the cleaning is crazy....what the hell were they thinking!!

5. My 3rd special mention goes to Joy Whalley. What an inspiration and beautiful person, I don't need to say much more than this as her actions speak for themselves. As she said this morning she ages with perfection!!!

6. My 4th special mention goes to everyone else. I think I can speak on Jen and Josh's behalf on this one as well, as trainers we were so proud to see everyone out there yesterday ripping in and working as a team. We had to group together on many challenges and work together to accomplish them. We all helped people overcome fears and get through obstacles they were not confident on doing, team work and being apart of a team is very special. We were so proud of you all when we walked over that finish line.

Thanks too to the support crew there supporting as and taking photos. Cheers for your support.

7. And finally thanks to my co-owner Nat for his different approach to Mudder, I am still trying to figure out how he and Josh actual made it to the start line let alone finish!!!

So to put it simple I would like to say that we are proud to have Hybrid and the members that make Hybrid what it is. The next question is, what is the next challenge we are going to take on??

Congratulations and be proud.
